Ordinary hours after seven people were gunshot adjacent to a playground in Douglas Park; eight more people were shot in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood, according to police.
According to authorities, the assassination happened in the 4200 block of West 18th Street at about 3:43 a.m… According to police, one person, whom family recognized as 33-year-old Demetrius Flowers, was gunshot in the chest and was later declared dead.
A total of seven more sufferers were shot during the incident, as well as a 14-year-old boy, who was gunshot in the thigh and taken to Stroger Hospital in steady condition.
All seven of the wounded victims agonized non-life-threatening injuries, and four of the fatalities were cured and discharged. Three are still hospitalized at Mount Sinai and Stroger hospitals, police said.
The shooting was one of several involving multiple victims during the morning hours on Sunday. A total of seven people were gunshot near a playground in the city’s Douglas Park neighborhood, according to police. According to Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said, in that shooting, a person in a black Camaro opened fire at a group of people, and some of the sufferer’s reverted fire before the sniper escaped the scene in the vehicle.
Police said, at one point during the shooting, ballistics proof recommends that four or five people were firing weapons.
Just over an hour later, two more people were shot in the 1200 block of South Troy, according to police. The two women were standing on a street when shots were fired, and both were taken to area hospitals, where they are listed in stable condition.
According to numbers provided by Chicago police, at least 43 people have been shot across the city since Friday evening.
