Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp long hours outage troubled services globally

Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp users complained on all three services Wednesday morning that sustained for hours before being settled in the late afternoon.

According to DownDetector.com, which detects website issues, the glitches happening around 5 a.m. Pacific Time and seemed to impact users across the globe, specifically in the United States and in Europe.

Menlo Park-based Facebook, which possesses all the impacted social media platforms, posted a message on contending social media platform Twitter about the problems.

Facebook tweeted, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”

 

Instagram on its Twitter account posted same tweet.

People can also use Twitter for their complaints and jokes about the outages.

 

 

DownDetector.com indicted that the global impact of the issues for all three apps were considerably abate by about 4 p.m. PST. While many users were still recording issues.

Facebook users were reporting that it starts working again uploaded images displayed, although there were continuous reports of messaging and image glitches with Instagram and Whatsapp.

As per posts by some users, hashtags and hashtag pages were still not active as of 5 p.m.

Instagram signposted on Twitter that the major issue was fixed at 4:45 p.m. PST.

Back in March, Facebook have gone through with the biggest outage in its history, which also influenced millions of users globally. In that outage, the social media giant said it was happen due to a “server configuration change” and not a cyber-attack.
