CHITRAL: Chitral team defeat their arch-rivals Gilgit-Baltistan team by one goal scored in the final minutes of the match the three-day Shandur polo festival concluded here on Tuesday.
Foreign tourists had come together at the highest polo ground of the world to adore the festivities and over 50,000 people drawn from Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan and other parts of the country.
The winner for the sixth successive time is Chitral they scored the significant goal during the last two minutes of the game.
Izhar Ali Khan of Chitral was acknowledged man of the match who scored five of the six goals of Chitral team, while the one was scored by team captain Shahazada Sikandar.
The chief guest, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood, distributed prizes to the players and Shandur Cup to the winning team.
